The indoor and outdoor pools at the Shaw Jewish Community Center on White Pond Drive are perfect for competitive swimming events. The Shaw Jewish Community Center has been able to attract students at all levels to participate in citywide swim meets. This photograph from the late 1970s shows the swim team, comprised of elementary, junior high, and high school swimmers.

The Shaw Jewish Community Center continues its tradition of emphasizing sports programming by participating in the Maccabia Youth Games, an international event. Prior to the start of the games, the Akron team proudly displays its banner.
